What makes Acellus Academy courses so effective?

Prism Diagnostics®: A Breakthrough in Online Learning

Acellus Academy courses integrate Prism Diagnostics®, an innovative technology that identifies holes in each student’s background knowledge. When the system identifies one of these deficiencies, custom personal instruction is provided to fill the gap in the student’s understanding. As a result, students receive their own custom version of each course, which is tuned to their specific needs and level.

Engaging Video Lessons that Bring Each Subject to Life

Acellus Academy integrates professionally filmed videos into online coursework to spark the interest of each student for any given subject. Acellus works with some of the most qualified teachers in the country to create engaging footage to make Acellus Academy’s online curriculum relevant for students. These captivating videos, combined with talented teachers and interactive course materials, provide an online school experience that inspires a love for learning.

Vectored Instruction: Filling Foundational Gaps for Student Success

As students are progressing through a course, sometimes they lack the foundational skills needed to successfully complete the material.  If students are stuck, Acellus analyzes which foundational concepts they need to review in order to master the grade level concepts they are struggling with. Vectored Instruction is then prescribed to fill in those gaps, going as deep as required to rebuild their foundational understanding, allowing them to move forward in their education.

Acellus STEM 10

Teaching Students Skills of the Future

STEM careers are continuing to grow at an astounding rate. However, most elementary schools have not yet incorporated STEM into their curriculum.

Acellus STEM 10 is designed to prepare students for careers in science and technology. The program introduces coding to Acellus students in 3rd grade. Each year students will expand their knowledge and further develop their skills in STEM fields. By the time students are in 9th grade, they get the opportunity to learn in a Career and Technical field that matches their interests.

STEM 10 – Level 1

In the first year of STEM-10, students take the Level 1 Coding Course.  This course targets students in the 3rd grade, but is excellent for any student starting out in coding. Beginning at square zero, the course advances step-by-step through the fundamentals of coding providing students with direct  instruction as they work through the course.  Part way through the course, students are introduced to Cellus Bot, an educational robot that provides hands-on coding practice.

STEM 10 – Level 2

The second year of STEM-10 (targeting 4th grade), students meet AC-D2, a sophisticated robot that is a master dancer. With approximately 10,000 possible step combinations, AC-D2 can sway twist and dance.  Students learn to program this more advanced robot through the Level 2 Acellus coding course, which teaches students the syntax needed to program in JavaScript.  This allows students to engage in serious coding tasks that will control the robot’s personality and movements.

Homeschool Mom

“The Acellus Program helped my son grow academically for the remainder of the school year. He went from failing grades to 80’s and 90’s because he was able to take his time doing the class work…

Most importantly I will recommend this program to others. Acellus is an amazing program and I am 100% satisfied.”
– Andrea S.

Parent of Special Ed Child

“After three years of homeschooling my son, we have gone through so many different curriculums to find the right fit…

The way this program teaches and goes over the subject again if it was not understood is amazing! My son’s reading comprehension was way below average. I now read the stories to him in the ninth grade Language Arts class, and there are many lessons on the one story. By the time he is done with the story, he comprehends it one hundred percent.

I want to thank you so much for making this affordable and having the most wonderful teachers! This is such an amazing program for kids that have physical disabilities, learning disabilities, or even just want to learn more at home. WE FOUND THE PERFECT FIT!!”
– Debbie C.

Math Teacher

“I have several students who can pass Algebra I and Geometry because of Acellus. There just isn’t enough of me to go around…

I also tried using Acellus for an ADHD student who was very disruptive. It helped him so much! When working with Acellus, this student was able to focus and to accomplish something.”
