Parent Experience

As a web-learning school, Acellus Academy’s students learn at home under the direct supervision of their parent or guardian. Acellus Academy empowers parents to take an integral role in their child’s education with a dedicated interface from which parents can track the progress and scores of their student in real-time.

From the Acellus Parent Interface, parents receive access to students’ attendance and grades within each course. Parents can review each specific assignment completed by the student. This review includes an overview of lesson videos watched; problems worked with answers given; completed exams including the pre-test, unit exams, mid-term, and final exam. Concepts for which a student struggles with are flagged so that parents can quickly identify areas of greatest need.

Parents can also track whether their student is meeting weekly progress goals. Attendance and hours worked within the system are logged automatically and organized into comprehensive reports that can be printed by the parent. Technical support and guidance is readily available via telephone and email.

By empowering parents with detailed insight regarding the progress of the learner, parents become a “sparkplug” for providing accountability and encouragement to students – two mandatory components of a successful web-learning deployment.

Know when your student needs help – and how to help them

Learn instantly when your student struggles and needs help.

When a student struggles with a concept in an Acellus course, the system will flag the concept and display a warning through the Live Monitor tool. Parents may quickly review the student’s work in that lesson and see the exact answers entered, along with the problem presented. These insights make it easy for parents to know when and how to help their student succeed.

Set Goals and Monitor Student Progress

Setting Goals

For each course, parents may view their student’s status in meeting weekly progress goals, which help students to stay on-track.

Score Reports

Parents may select any course and see a detailed report of each lesson that the student has worked in. These reports include time-stamps and allow the parent to view each problem presented to the student.

Live Monitor

The Live Monitor tool allows parents to watch student progress in real-time. Color-coded flags indicate when a student is struggling and may need assistance.

Hands-on Lesson Plans

The Special Lessons section of Acellus provides detailed lesson plans that provide hands-on learning opportunities to enrich each student’s learning experience. These lessons engage students in higher-order thinking and address critical areas, such as the development of writing and research skills.

Connect from All Your Devices

Using the Acellus App, you can securely sign in as a parent from all your devices. This makes it easy to stay on top of your student’s work, no matter where you are.

Progress Reports

Detailed progress reports are available to parents and students via the Acellus Learning System. These reports indicate the student’s grade within each course and provide a score for each lesson completed.

Attendance is logged automatically by the Acellus Learning System. Reports can be easily printed showing days when the student worked and total hours spent. Acellus Academy does not mandate a specific attendance schedule. Parents are responsible for ensuring adequate student attendance as dictated by their state’s requirements for homeschooling.

Official transcripts for Acellus Academy students are available upon request.
