Science L!VE with Roger Billings will be on summer break during July and August. The weekly broadcast will resume on Wednesday, September 4th at 7:00pm CST.
Students enrolled under the Roger Billings Scholarship will continue to receive the scholarship rate during these months. However, there is no weekly requirement for tuning into Science Live until September 4, 2024.
On behalf of the team at Acellus, we wish all of our students and families and wonderful summer!
Thank you for letting us know. We appreciate this important announcement.
Yes! Thanks so much, we were tuning in until seeing this! 🙂
We are very excited for our child being apart of this wonderful program. Although the live videos haven’t started yet, the video we watched was very informative.
Thank you, Darryl and Aimee! We are excited to have your student enrolled with us.
Thank you for sharing this, we are new to Acellus Academy and we were trying to find the the lives.
Hi Jessica! Students can access Science Live under the activities option on the student dashboard of Acellus Gold. Alternatively, your student can watch at https://ScienceLive.com. If your student watches through the website, please be sure to have your student sign in on ScienceLive.com so that they get credit for watching the episode.
Thanks for that information. I’m new here but this message board is going to be a life saver!
Is there a way to verify that our students are tuning in and leaving their comments to get credit?
Hi Kristen! Parents can track whether or not their student has watched Science Live from the parent account. Once you have signed in and selected your student, scroll to the bottom of the screen and select “Learning Activities.”
Does this only apply to high school students? I am not seeing anything about Science Live in my child’s “Learning Activities” and they are in 8th grade. I thought this applied to ALL students?
The option to track which episodes a student has watches applies to all age levels.
How many times a week is the Roger Billings videos are they required to do
Science Live is broadcast live once per week on Wednesday evening at 7pm (CST). To be eligible for the scholarship, students may tune in any time during the week to watch the latest episode.
How long are these sessions? Just trying to plan. Thank you!
Each episode is one hour long. Previous episodes can be viewed at the following link: https://sciencelive.com/watch-previous-episodes/
Thank you! I appreciate this—our daughter is in a dance class until 8pm on Wed. so after she got home, she tuned in at 9pm and I was worried that it was too late and that she had to be on it while it was live. Also…we are only on day 3, but the design of the system-both for her to keep track and keep motivated and for us to see what she is doing without hovering is excellent!
Science Live question. At the very end of this week’s episode Dr Billings was talking about watching the episodes and commenting and said you can go back and watch previous episodes and it will “count toward your 100”. What does that mean?
Students can earn a high school science credit after completing 100 episodes.
Does this include episodes watched last year? I looked at her history and it only shows the episode from 9/4/24.
Is there a grace period if you miss one or two Wednesday nights or are you automatically denied the scholarship program if you miss one night?
We are brand new to Acellus. When I log in online and select my child, I scroll to the bottom and clicked on learning activities but there are no videos to watch. Do they post on Wednesday nights? Where can we find past videos? Are they on the app?
My child missed the Live Science Wednesday, can they go back and watch the previous episode and still get it counted towards the Scholarship for tuition.
What happens if I miss a few Science Live episodes? Will I not get any credits?
