Keeping students focused on learning can be a challenge—especially in a homeschool setting. Success often comes down to finding the right mix of structure, motivation, and supportive tools. At Acellus Academy, we’ve built Acellus Gold with features designed to keep students motivated and engaged in their learning journey.
Engagement Starts with Interest
Capturing a student’s interest is key to helping them stay focused. That’s why Acellus Gold incorporates dynamic, interactive elements that make learning both effective and enjoyable.
The platform features HD video lessons taught by expert instructors, enhanced with 3D animations that make complex topics easier to understand. Lessons are broken into bite-sized segments with built-in interactive exercises and instant feedback—keeping students moving forward and actively involved.
A Real Family’s Experience: The Habings
We had the opportunity to sit down with the Habing family, who shared how they’ve used Acellus Gold in their homeschool to keep their kids motivated and engaged. Here are some of the strategies that have worked best for them:
Set Clear Daily Goals
Students tend to stay more focused when they have a clear understanding of what they need to accomplish each day. Breaking down coursework into daily tasks makes learning feel structured and achievable.
“What we discovered is it’s really easy to motivate our kids if we use the daily goals built into Acellus Gold. And as a parent, we can log into the app and verify that they completed the daily goal,” the Habings explained.
In Acellus Gold, parents can set weekly learning goals, which students can track through their dashboard. This gives students a clear sense of direction and progress. Parents can also adjust goals as needed to match their child’s pace and needs.
Reward Progress
Positive reinforcement goes a long way in boosting motivation. When students know they’ll be rewarded for meeting their goals, they’re more likely to stay focused and finish their work.
“It’s really fun to see how excited the kids are to get their goals accomplished so they can do the activities,” the Habings shared.
Acellus Gold rewards students with interactive learning activities and gold credits when they reach their daily goals. These credits can be redeemed for prizes, giving students an extra reason to stay engaged and celebrate their progress, while also emphasizing the value of the knowledge they’re gaining along the way.
Stay Involved in the Learning Process
Parental involvement remains one of the most important factors in a successful homeschool experience. For the Habing family, regular check-ins and encouragement have made a big difference.
Ways to Support Your Student:
- Check in regularly – Review student progress daily or weekly
- Celebrate achievements – Acknowledge when goals are met or good habits are formed
- Plan together – Let students help set realistic daily targets
Acellus Gold makes parental involvement easy with a dedicated parent portal. From tracking attendance and viewing completed work to receiving real-time updates, the platform helps parents stay informed and supported.
How much gold can I keep in my gold account?
Thats a good question, I am trying to buy all the backgrounds and icons, so not going well.
Thats a good question, I am trying to buy all the backgrounds and icons, so not going well.
I am interested in doing Acellus Gold, but all I have is the regular Power Homeschool Acellus Academy. Is there a way for me to switch from what I have to Acellus Gold? If so, will it cost extra per month? My mom is paying the $25 a month for what I have now, would that change if she put me on Acellus Gold?
Hello Hailey – Thank you for your message! Acellus Academy and Power Homeschool are separate entities and not affiliated. To use Acellus Gold, you can enroll in Acellus Academy. We also offer financial assistance through the Roger Billings Scholarship Program. Please contact our customer support team with any questions.
Thank you! 🙏
How much gold am I allowed I’m my account in total? It would be amazing to know this information. Also I’m having a problem with getting classmates and would love to know if I have to be in specific classes to get classmates?
Thank you for your inquiry. There are no restrictions on the amount of gold students can earn. Regarding access to classmates, the availability depends on how you are utilizing Acellus—whether through a school, Acellus Academy, or another program. I recommend that your parent or guardian contact our support team for detailed guidance on accessing the classmates feature.
Thank you and another thing is, do you think that acellus can look into another blog for “Recommendations For Classes and Features”? I think this would be a great idea for other students can think and suggest classes that Acellus Academy could possibly make? This would be a amazing blog for acellus to make please. 🙏
Thank you for your suggestion!
I agree Cris. I’d definitely be all over that. I would like a class where I can get better with my song writing. I am good at it, but I would want tips from a professional or something. Plus, I’d take it for an Extra Curricular class. 😁
I also think that acellus should have a “Student Comment/ Student Conversation” blog where students that don’t have classmates and want to know more about other students on acellus can interact, for example, the students that can’t go to the acellus world and talk to other students, there can be a comment/ interaction blog where students can talk. Of course with Acellus Moderation! I think this could be very beneficial for students that don’t have classmates or want to interact with others! 🙏
omgggg thank you I aggree I’ve been thinking this for so long like bc we are home schooled we don’t have friend and stuff so it would be nice to conversate with are peers who to the same school.
