The best way to determine which courses your student needs to take is to create a High School Education Plan. This tool helps you to map out a plan of study based on your student’s career goals and interests. This option is available once the student is enrolled or is 13+.
If the student has completed credits through another school, the transcripts can be uploaded during this process.
Please note, the education plan will not affect the student’s active course list. To make a change to this, you’d need to submit a request through the parent portal.
Once you have signed in as a parent through the Acellus App. , select “Manage Account”.
Then, click on “Create a Plan” under your student’s information. (This option will not appear for students who are not at least 13.)
Follow the steps to enter in your student’s grade and goals/interests. Then you’ll be able to choose a pathway for graduation. (The system will suggest an option based on the information you provided earlier.)
When you reach the step for the Plan of Study, you’ll be able to enter in any credits your student has already completed. Be sure to enter in the grade for each credit. (Only credits with a grade of C- or greater (or 70% and above) are eligible for transfer.)
Select the courses you plan to have your student take through Acellus.
Note: you’ll need to select all the courses for graduation, not just for a single grade.
There may be certain required credits based on your student’s pathway. These will be listed above each section.
You’ll be able to view the total credits at the end of the page before submitting the Plan of Study.
If you entered in transfer credits, you’ll need to enter in the school’s information and upload your student’s transcript.
If you do not have the transcript yet, you can choose to upload it later.
Note: you’ll need to provide these before submitting your student’s graduation application when they are ready to graduate. Official high school transcripts will be required to verify transfer credits.
Once you have finished the Education Plan, we’ll email a copy to you. You can also view or edit it at any time through the parent portal.
If you are transferring credits, they will be listed as pending on the Education Plan. Most parents wait until their student is applying for graduation to have the credits reviewed and transferred. There is a $15 transfer fee per credit.
