PA State Requirements
Acellus Academy for Pennsylvania Families
In the state of Pennsylvania, Acellus Academy is considered an “umbrella school”. An umbrella school is any alternative source of education that provides curriculum and oversight of homeschooled students to fulfill the requirements of state government. These entities are not registered with the PA Department of Education (PDE) and do not lead to a state-recognized diploma. If a parent in PA chooses an umbrella school, they must submit a notarized affidavit or unsworn declaration statement to their local school district, along with a written evaluation of the home education program by a qualified evaluator each year.
At Acellus Academy, we simplify the evaluation process for Pennsylvania parents by providing comprehensive reporting tools. Our detailed reports include syllabi, report cards, and progress reports, all accessible through the parent account. These resources help parents comply with state requirements and complete state testing effortlessly. Acellus Academy’s robust reporting system ensures that Pennsylvania families receive the support they need to adhere to state regulations, making the educational journey smoother and more efficient.

The Scholarship Program is open to students ranging from kindergarten to high school and is designed to support creative students with an interest in science and technology.
Under the Scholarship Program, students who enroll participate in Science L!VE, weekly lectures that teach the importance of education and help students understand how knowledge can empower them to succeed. Students who attend these lectures are eligible to receive reduced tuition rates in return for their increased level of commitment

Supervision
Parents are responsible for overseeing the student’s learning experience. This involves ensuring the student attends regularly and completes weekly progress goals in each course. The parent is also responsible for providing an optimal study environment conducive to learning.
Tracking Progress
Through our easy-to-use Acellus platform, parents should sign in at least daily to monitor their child’s academic progress and scores. This ensures that they can identify areas of improvement and help the student stay on track.
Interface with Acellus Academy
Parents should communicate with Acellus Academy to address any questions or concerns that may arise during the course of their child’s study. A dedicated team is available to support parents.
Follow Local Home Education Laws
