Twelfth grade is an important time for high school students as they decide their next steps after graduation. Acellus Academy is an accredited online school. Therefore, once 12th graders complete all the necessary credit requirements, they will graduate from our online program with a high school diploma. We recommend that parents collaborate with their students to create a high school education plan to ensure that they are on track to meeting all the requirements while taking courses that excite them.
Acellus Academy offers a variety of courses in career and technical education that allow students to explore potential career opportunities. In addition to these courses, twelfth-grade students can pick from a list of subjects, including mathematics, language arts, science, history and social studies, foreign languages, and health. Acellus Academy’s goal is to create a safe learning environment with courses the spur excitement and curiosity around learning. Students learn on their own about topics they find interesting.
Acellus Academy works with highly-qualified teachers to create interesting course materials that maintain every student’s interest. Students must master concepts before advancing to more difficult lessons in the course. In order to make sure students are meeting certain milestones for the specific subject, we outline specific objectives and learning outcomes in the course description.
We offer advanced placement and honors courses for students who perform above average in a certain subject. Extra help videos are also available if students struggle with a concept or lesson. Check out our high school overview, for a comprehensive list of all high school courses and the learning objectives for each one.
Acellus Academy’s courses are self-paced so that students can progress through lessons as they grasp ideas and spend additional time studying challenging concepts. Our lessons consist of lecture videos and a variety of coursework, such as practice problems, help videos, exams, essays, and hands-on experiments.
Our course structure is designed to give each student a unique learning experience. The Acellus Learning Accelerator uses Prism Diagnostics and Vectored Instruction to find holes in a student’s background knowledge and provide resources to bridge these gaps before moving on to more complete concepts.
All courses are accessible through a student interface on the Acellus app. This allows students to access video lessons, assignments, grades, and additional resources whenever they have Internet access.
We recommend that Acellus Academy students work with their parents to build a high school education plan. This involves selecting a graduation path and mapping out courses as well as making plans after graduation. An education plan also helps manage tuition and fees associated with Acellus Academy’s online high school. Creating a high school education plan keeps students on track to completing graduation requirements while enrolling in courses that lay a foundation for potential courses of study in college or careers after graduation.
Acellus Academy’s open enrollment policy allows students to join our online school year-round. A student must be enrolled in Acellus Academy for 12 months before qualifying for a diploma. Once parents complete the admissions process, students can enroll in the course and start progressing through lessons right away.
